Memorandum of Understanding between the School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, Yale University and TERI, New Delhi, India

                   
 

A Memorandum of Understanding between the School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A. ("F&ES"), and the Tata Energy Research Institute, New Delhi, India ("TERI") was signed by Prof Gustave Speth, Dean, F&ES and Dr R K Pachauri, Director-General, TERI.

In the MoU, subject to the availability of funding and other resources, F&ES and TERI agreed to:

sqb_t.gif (55 bytes) Constitute a Joint Management Committee to discuss existing activities and to plan new ones, membership of the committee to include representatives of both institutions;
sqb_t.gif (55 bytes) Cooperate in the development of the curriculum for TERI’s master degree in environmental management;
sqb_t.gif (55 bytes) Devise and maintain mechanisms to exchange faculty and students;
sqb_t.gif (55 bytes) Provide access to courses and research facilities for faculty and students (including field sites and libraries) of both institutions;
sqb_t.gif (55 bytes) Explore the possibility of jointly planning, developing, and conducting short courses at TERI for senior managers from government, business and non-profit organizations, as well as international symposia;
sqb_t.gif (55 bytes) Consider opportunities for joint research among faculty and students;
sqb_t.gif (55 bytes) Jointly identify program needs in South Asia and explore opportunities for cooperation with other institutions in the region; and
sqb_t.gif (55 bytes) Identify and submit joint or cooperative proposals to conduct programs in research, education, outreach and institution building.
