Mr Gokul Patnaik
Managing Director, Cebeco India Pvt. Ltd., India

A high profile dynamic bureaucratic turned entrepreneur, he was largely responsible for the Agro Revolution in the Punjab during the late 80’s. As Managing Director of PSIDC, Markfed and Punjab Agro Industries Corporation successively, he established many landmark joint ventures involving transnational companies in the agro foods sector. As Chairman of Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority, (popularly known as APEDA) in the Ministry of Commerce from 1991–96, he was the chief architect of a seven fold growth in Agro Exports from India – Rs 11.24 billion to Rs 79.32 billion.

Mr Patnaik was the founder Chairman of India International Marketing Center (IIMC) at Rotterdam and founder Co-Chairman of the Indo-US-Agro Business Alliance.

After serving the Punjab Government as Principal Secretary for Industry and then Principal Secretary to Irrigation and Power, he took pre-mature retirement from the IAS in 1998 to assist the agro industry in the public and private sector as a consultant.

Mr Gokul Patnaik is currently the President of All India Food Processors Association and a member of the National Council of CII. He is also the Managing Director of Cebeco India Private Ltd., an organisation exclusively devoted to providing consultancy services in agri-business.
