Dr T P Singh

Director, TERI School of Advanced Studies

Dr T P Singh an officer of the Indian Forest Service, on deputation to TERI, New Delhi has taken charge as the first Vice Chancellor of the TERI School of Advanced Studies, a University of higher learning. During the last 22 years in the Indian Forest Service he served at a senior management level in natural resource management, administration, organizational leadership, coordination and human resource development. He has served as the Assistant Inspector General of Forests (Forest Policy) and as the National Project Coordinator for the development of a National Forestry Action Plan while on deputation to the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. While in TERI Dr Singh served as Senior Fellow and spearheaded more than 10 projects in the area of Joint Forest Management and is an acclaimed authority in this area. Dr Singh is a member of several committees and task forces, constituted by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India; lead author of a report for the International Governmental Panel on Climate Change and the author of several national and international publications.
