Ms Preety M
Bhandari is the Director of Policy Analysis Division at The Energy
and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi. Her principal interests
are (1) climate change, and (2) oil & gas.
Ms Preety Bhandari has 17 years of work experience
in areas related to energy policy, and climate change. She has worked
with UNEP's Environment Assessment Programme for the Asia Pacific,
reviewing the State of the Environment report at the national, sub-regional
and regional levels, as also the environment data information system
housed at UNEP-EAP/AP. She also worked with the Environmentally
Compatible Energy Strategies Project at International Institute
for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in developing global scenarios
for CO2 emissions using a dynamic non-linear optimization model,
the Global 2100.
She is with TERI since 1987. She has coordinated
activities of Center for Global Environmental Research and the Oil
and Gas area, at different points in time. Ms Bhandari holds a Masters
Degree in Business Economics from Department of Business Economics,
University of Delhi. She has also done Energy Planning and Policy
Course from University of Pennsylvania, Center for Energy &
the Environment, USA sponsored by the USAID.
Ms Bhandari is a Member of the following prominent
Committees set up by the Government of India:
1. Expert Core Group on Climate Change, a Committee set up by the
Government of India, Ministry of Environment
and Forests, New Delhi, India, 2003.
2. India Program of Research in Human Development 2003-07. A project
study
of University of Maryland, USA and National Council
of Applied Economic Research, New Delhi, India.
