Forest Oriented Commitments
Chairman of a Working Group on "Global
Deforestation Trends" appointed by the InterAction Council 1987. Co-chairman of
"The European Forum for Forest Protection" 1988-1990. Co-ordinating member of a
Review Team on the "Tropical Forest Action Plan" appointed by FAO 1990.
Co-chairman of the independent "World Commission on Forests and Sustainable
Development" since 1995.
