"Beyond 2015: People, Planet and Progress- Mobilising Business Strategies and Solutions"
5 October 2016

The Business Day of the World Sustainable Development Summit themed "Beyond 2015: People, Planet and Progress- Mobilising Business Strategies and Solutions" will explore the role that businesses can play to not only invest in development but also enhance its corporate value.

Scientific evidence and economic analysis have presented incontrovertible evidence of how human activity contributes to global warming. These considerations are likely to form an integral part of commercial normality and indeed competitiveness in the future. Definitions of business success are likely to include the assumption of zero-negative impact on the environment at the very least. Businesses are faced with the challenge of integrating environmental considerations into their production and marketing plans. Integration of corporate strategy and environmental/societal considerations could be achieved through improving market communications, improving manufacturing processes and carrying out research and development.
