Radio roundtable on sustainable development

All India Radio Calicut station's Sradha (Attention) program featured a round table on sustainable development on Oct. 7 with participation from the World Sustainable Development Summit.

T P Sreenivasan, a former ambassador who heads the Kerala Council for Higher Education, appreciated the organising of the World Sustainable Development Summit and said there was much more to be done for sustainable development.

NK Pramachandran, Member of Parliament and a former minister, said that implementation of initatives to control climate change is must and developed countries must do more.

Harish Vasudevan, an environment activist, said grassroots social action is required to protect nature. He said he hoped the Paris Climate Change Agreement's ratification will spur action at the level of governments and society.

Participating from the WSDS in New Delhi, Deepak Dharmadam spoke about the work at the summit and the Media Colloquium.
