WSDS 2025 Inaugural Session: Global Leaders Call for Urgent Climate Action and Partnerships

The World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2025 commenced in New Delhi, focusing on "Partnerships for Accelerating Sustainable Development and Climate Solutions." Hosted by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), the inaugural session brought together global leaders and policymakers to drive collective action for a sustainable future. Distinguished speakers included H.E. Brigadier (Retd.) Mark Phillips, Prime Minister of Guyana; H.E. Ms Marina Silva, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Brazil; Shri Bhupender Yadav, Hon'ble Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, India; Mr. Nitin Desai, Chairman, TERI; and Dr. Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI.

Sustainable Development Leadership Award 2025: Dr Bharrat Jagdeo, Vice President, Guyana

TERI proudly honours Dr Bharrat Jagdeo with the Sustainable Development Leadership Award 2025 for his pioneering role in climate action. As a global advocate, he launched Guyana’s Low Carbon Development Strategy and played a key role in international climate finance. His leadership bridges development and conservation, setting an inspiring precedent for sustainable growth.
