Youth Climate Conclave 5th Edition

Youth from across the country joined together for the 5th Edition of Youth Climate Conclave (2024 – 25) which was held on 02 – 04 March 2024 to discuss and deliberate on the most pressing issues related to climate action. The ‘Youth Pledge’, which was drafted as part of the Conclave, was presented at the World Sustainable Development Summit 2025 (05 – 07 March 2025) during the valedictory session ‘WSDS@25 and Driving Impact through Multistakeholder Dialogues’ on 07 March 2025. Best entries of YCC photography competition which was conducted online were showcased in Youth Climate Conclave Photography Exhibition organised at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 02 March 2025 and was inaugurated in the presence of Mr Tarun Kumar Pithode, Director, MoEFCC, GoI; HE Ewa Suwara, Chargée d’affaires, Deputy Head of Delegation of the European Union to India; Mr R R Rashmi, Distinguished Fellow & Programme Director, Resource Efficiency & Governance, TERI.

YCC 2025 was interspersed with and educational field trip to TERI Retreat, interactive sessions featuring panel discussions, keynote speeches, a debate competition and exclusive one-on-one engagements with Climate Fresk experts, policymakers, and youth leaders. A key highlight was the virtual launch of YCC case story, which can be viewed here, followed by 95 youth from 12 states who collectively drafted a ‘Youth Pledge’ to be presented at the World Sustainable Development Summit 2025.

YCC 2025 culminated with a Valedictory Session where Dr Dipankar Saharia, Social Transformation & Strategic Alliance, TERI; and Mr Bartosz Przywara, Counsellor, Energy, Climate Action, Environment, Delegation of the European Union to India graced the occasion.

The winners of debate and photography competition were felicitated in the presence of Mr Nitin Desai, Chairman, TERI; Ms Dia Mirza, Actor, Producer, UNEP Goodwill Ambassador; UN Secretary General's Advocate for SDGs; Mr Martin Raiser, Vice President, The World Bank; Dr Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI and Dr Shailly Kedia, Curator, World Sustainable Development Summit, TERI; during the valedictory session on 07 March 2025 at the World Sustainable Development Summit 2025. Additionally, an outcome of the programme- ‘Youth Pledge’ was presented.

YCC is supported by the India-EU Clean Energy and Climate Partnership (CECP) project, managed by the Delegation of the European Union to India. TERI leads the implementation of this collaborative initiative and knowledge partners are MoEFCC, GIZ, CEEW, Climate Fresk. The names of the winners from the Debate Competition:
