Summit Series: 2001-2025
WSDS 2026 Theme
परिवर्तन | Transformations : Vision, Voices, and Values for Sustainable Development
The world is off track. According to the first Global Stocktake, achieving the ambitious temperature goals requires a 43 per cent reduction in emissions by 2030, while the implementation of current nationally determined contributions will result in only a 2 per cent reduction. In the mid-point review of the Sustainable Development Goals, of the 169 targets, only 13% are on track, while 18% are not even being tracked. These figures highlight gaps not only in implementation but also in the data needed to inform progress.
The challenges confronting the world today are deeply interconnected, requiring long-term vision, diverse perspectives, and value-driven approaches to drive the transformations essential for sustainable development and climate action.
The 2026 edition of WSDS will mark the Silver Jubilee of the Summit. This 25th edition of the milestone event will be held from 25–27 February 2026 at the Taj Palace, New Delhi, under the umbrella theme: परिवर्तन | Transformations : Vision, Voices, and Values for Sustainable Development.
WSDS 2026 Thematic Video
In a world of paradox, we have built towering cities on fragile foundations, connecting the globe while disconnecting from the planet. This journey began in 2001 with the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit, a pioneering platform for the Global South that placed climate justice and equity at the center of the global agenda.
Over 25 years, this spark evolved into the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS). Grounded in grassroots realities, it has shaped historic discussions from Rio to Paris. As a convergence point for Heads of State, Nobel Laureates, and youth leaders, the Summit has translated intent into implementation—launching transformative campaigns like Lighting a Billion Lives and mainstreaming circular economy approaches.
We have served as a catalyst, empowering the next generation and nudging corporates toward climate action. Today, we stand at a historic crossroads: the Silver Jubilee edition.
This is not a time for passive hope, but for bold vision. We must amplify unheard voices and rediscover the values that define our shared survival. Join us for the 25th edition of WSDS. The future is not a destination we arrive at; it is a world we build together.
