Presentation of Green Globe Foundation's Annual Awards Ceremony

The Green Globe Foundation Awards endeavour to honour the real heroes who are making efforts to save the planet. Dr R K Pachauri, Director General, TERI appreciated the conceptualization of the Green Globe Awards as having value for future generations.

Some notable awards were - the YUVA Award presented to Mr Raghav Mimani, and the Young Achiever Award that went to Aarav Bhatia, son of popular cine-actor Mr Akshay Kumar. Awards were also presented in other categories, including – Best Public Figure (leading actor Mr Rahul Bose), Best Green Architecture (Centre of Environmental Science and Engineering, IIT Kanpur), Best Corporate House (Reva Electric Company Pvt Ltd).

Message from Prime Minster of Bhutan HE Mr Jigmi Yoser Thinley
He said that Bhutan is considered one of the happiest countries, as the country has taken a number of measures to ensure that happiness is sustainable. Mentioining some of the achievements, he stated that as a country Bhutan is carbon neutral as it hase ventured majorly into carbon sequestration; 72% of the land is under forest cover, and 5% under the national cover of protected area.
