The half-day workshop… Renewable energy and energy efficiency partnership (REEEP) is organizing a special event focusing on rural energy solutions. The half-day workshop will present innovative renewable energy solutions that facilitate access to clean and modern energy forms to the rural populace. It plans to highlight achievements and impact of such rural off-initiatives on rural socio-economic development. REEEP is associated with the Government of India and several state nodal agencies to support the country's collaborative approach on energy issues. The majority of REEEP projects continue to target the emerging markets economies of Brazil, China, India, Mexico and South Asia. Through these projects several different financial instruments have been developed and used to project renewable energy development in rural settings. Read less

It has been continually updated and is now growing to include special exhibition modules developed in collaboration with four regional partners: The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in India, Vitae Civilis in Brazil, OneWorld in South Africa, and the Chinese Society for Sustainable Development (CSSD) based in Beijing. The exhibition will be displayed around the world over the coming years. Using themes such as water, natural resources, and climate change, the exhibition shows how environmental degradation and resource scarcity can lead to conflicts and to new security risks.
