State Level Sustainable Development Summits
Local governments, NGOs and community organizations can and must play a role in the ongoing change towards a sustainable development path. There are already many examples of initiatives taken on the local level that contain lessons and inspiration for the world at large. In the spirit of the theme of DSDS 2011, TERI is convening summits in the six Indian states of Assam, Bihar, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, with the purpose of bringing out the best of these success stories.
