Dr Ajay Mathur Director General, TERI

Ajay Mathur is the Director General of TERI - The Energy & Resources Institute, and a member of the Prime Minister's Council on Climate Change. He was Director General of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency in the Government of India from 2006 till February, 2016, and was responsible for bringing energy efficiency into our homes, offices, and factories, through initiatives such as the star labelling programme for appliances, the Energy Conservation Building Code, and the Perform, Achieve and Trade programme for energy-intensive industries. Dr Mathur was earlier with TERI from 1986 to 2000, and then headed the Climate Change Team of World Bank in Washington DC. He was also the President of Suzlon Energy Limited, and headed the interim Secretariat of the Green Climate Fund.

He has been a key Indian climate-change negotiator, and was also the Indian spokesperson at the 2015 climate negotiations at Paris. He is a global leader on technological approaches to address climate change; recently, he joined the global group of industrial, financial and think-tank leaders to co-chair an Energy Transitions Commission which will suggest ways for companies and countries to move towards climate-friendly energy futures.

Debasish Banerjee Managing Director- Distribution, CESC Limited

An Electrical Engineer with proficiency in Business Management, having 34 years of rich and diverse industry experience. He has started his career from GEC and moved onto Crompton Greaves and Schneider Electric, heading Business Operations in End-user, Utilities, Industry & Dealer domain. In the last stint as CEO of Reliance Energy, he contributed to improving Operational Efficiency through Business Processes Reengineering & Automation while optimizing cost, thus improving bottom line and Customer Delight.

In pursuit of his passion to transform Power Distribution business to a Digital Utility, he effectively deploys Technology for radical change and is continually engaged in embracing disruptive Technological Innovations, for delivering a Real Time, Digital Experience, riding the new waves of Mobility, loT, Big Data Analytics & AI.

Kasturi Bhattacharjee Senior Director, Industry & IoT Head, Ericsson India Global Services Pvt. Ltd.

Kasturi is a Technology professional and Business Leader with more 22 years of cross-functional experience spanning across multiple roles. Currently she is part of the Global Ericsson team in the Business Unit Emerging Technologies within Ericsson's new offering and Portfolio in IoT and 5G solutions.

Kasturi started her career as an R&D engineer at Nortel Networks, USA followed by a tenure with Cisco Systems, USA. Kasturi started her career and a tenure of more than 8 years at Nortel Networks USA in RF Cellular Group working on areas involving radio resource optimization, network protocols, call processing and call routing ,modulation schemes, dynamic power control and next generation features in the cellular industry. Moving on from Nortel, she joined Cisco Systems USA Optional Networking Group in Digital Cross Connect Systems. Here she led a team of R&D engineers to perform System Level Integration, Testing and debugging on SONET/SDH based Wave Length Router product, specialising in the Automatic Protection Switching core of OC-48 , OC-192 and support the interface between Network Management and Element Management (EM) layers for SONET/SDH.

Kasturi then took up a role as the Telecom Consulting Leader at Pricewaterhouse Coopers India responsible for creating and building and leading PwC's Telecom Technology practice and led the practice for 7 years. Post her tenure with PwC, she joined Ericsson Global India Ltd to manage the Global Delivery of one of Ericsson's core portfolios in the Operations Sub-system space for Telcos across the globe for 3 years post which with the advent of Disruptive Technologies and Ericsson entering the market place with new solutions around IoT Kasturi took up the leadership of the new service delivery unit of IoT at Ericsson Global Services India. After leading the team for 3 years, Kasturi has taken up a role currently as IoT pre-sales Director for the Asia Sattelite of Ericsson IoT Business Unit.

Kasturi graduated from University of Texas, Dallas with an Engineering degree in Computer Science and also completed a Business Executive Program at NorthEastern University, Boston.

Kasturi is also a regular speaker at Key Industry and Technology events like AIEE, Nasscom, CII, Infocomm and TV appearances in Bloomberg etc . She is a regular contributer to multiple articles in leading Business and Technology magazines and newspapers like Voice&Data, Economic Times, Telegraph etc.

Shakuntala Ghosh Partner and Principal Architect, Ghosh, Bose and Associates Architects

Shakuntala Ghosh is Principal Architect and Partner of M/s. Ghosh, Bose & Associates (GBA), Architects, an awarding winning Architectural and Engineering Consultancy Firm established in 1963. The firm is privileged to have some of the most reputed public and private sector companies in India among its Clientele and has over the year built up a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from educational, institutional, commercial, residential, health care and interiors.

Ar. Ghosh is a Gold Medalist from the Department of Architecture, Jadavpur University, Kolkata graduating in 1984 with record marks for her thesis on the Renovation of the General Post Office, Kolkata. Shakuntala Ghosh was winner of the prestigious National Award for Excellence in Architecture conferred by The Indian Institute of Architects and was also a nominee for the International Aga Khan Award for Architecture. Mrs. Ghosh has been conferred Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 by Association of Architects, Builders, Interior Designers and Allied Business (ABID) for her contribution to the field of Architecture. Ar. Ghosh is also the recipient of Women in Green Building Leadership Award 2018 from World Green Building Council Asia Pacific Network at Singapore in September 2018.

Environmentally sustainable architecture is a major focus of Ms Ghosh's work and she has been actively involved with the Green Building movement since its inception. She has presented a number of papers at various national and international seminars on the same and has provided leadership in making GBA a leader in Green Building Design.

Ar. Ghosh was on the Technical Advisory Committee to the Government of India for developing Rating Systems for Green Buildings. She is a Trainer and Evaluator for the GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment). She is an Empanelled Architect with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), which has initiated the Energy Conservation in Building Code (ECBC) and has been designated as Master Trainer for improving understanding and promotion of ECBC. She is an Accredited EIA Coordinator for Townships under QCI / NABET Accreditation Scheme.

On a larger scale, she was contributed to thought leadership in Green Building and Sustainable Development at a National and Asia Pacific Regional level. She has conducted outreach and awareness platforms to connect all the stakeholders, in the developmental spectrum. More importantly, she has reached out to the next generation through Schools and Colleges to carry the sustainable movement forward into the critical decades ahead.

Soma Mitra Mukherjee Assistant Director, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Soma Mitra Mukherjee, an IVLP (International Visitor's Leadership Programme) alumnus, is a former journalist with an experience of more than 20 years in "reporting from the field". She has expertise in connecting people from different strata of society. She cherishes the experience of working from each block of West Bengal and all North Eastern States of India as she worked as a journalist for ANI-Reuters Television and ZEE-24Ghanta. She also worked as a freelance journalist for Women Feature Service (WFS) on Social Issues and received THE CARE-WOMEN'S FEATURE SERVICE FELLOWSHIP for working on social issues, 2008. She achieved The Best Journalist Award of West Bengal in the year 2014. Currently she is working as the Assistant Director of the Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry and curated much-acclaimed "The Calcutta Gallery", a pictorial journey down the hallowed pathways of the industrial and business history of Calcutta, along with her colleagues. She worked as the Chief Coordinator for the projects, "Study on Enhancing Land-Rail Connectivity of West Bengal with Bangladesh onwards to North Eastern India" and "Study on Model RORO Infrastructure in West Bengal to Boost Business".
