Shashikant Chopde, currently working as Senior Research Associate, ISET-International, US has 29 years of experience in development sector with past 17 years as core team member/ technical specialist on adaptation and resilience multi-country programmes/ flagship initiatives such as Adaptive Capacity and Livelihood Resilience, Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN), CDKN and Action on Climate Today (ACT) covering rural, peri-urban and urban contexts. More recently he has worked on Climate-smart Disaster Management Plans for various state level departments and climate- and disaster-resilient (urban and rural) water supply systems. He has delivered training sessions on Mainstreaming CCA and DRR in development planning to Central Ministries, State and District level government officers of India. He was nominated to IPCC-TGICA Expert Meeting on Decision-Centered Approaches to the Use of Climate Information in 2015. He has Masters in Civil Engineering (1992) with specialization in Water Resources Management and is a lifetime LEAD (Leadership for Environment and Development) fellow.

Ms. Nidhi Madan is a climate change adaptation expert with experience working with the Government, academicians, the scientific community, bilateral and multilateral organisations. She is working as a Senior Programme Manager with the Climate Policy team of Shakti. She has spent nearly a decade working under the bilateral cooperation project of the MoEFCC and GiZ, wherein she has supported climate policy research and worked on the development of the State Action Plan on Climate Change.

Gyanendra Dev Tripathi, IAS, is the Chief Executive Officer of Assam State Disaster Management Authority.

Dr Shiraz Wajih, is a development professional working as researcher, directing projects, trainer and facilitator since last 35 years. He is associated with Gorakhpur Environmental Action Group (www.geagindia.org) since its inception and is currently President of the organization. He has been Associate Professor in University College of Gorakhpur University.

He has directed several projects related to issues like Sustainable Livelihoods, Natural Resource Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change Adaptation and livelihood resilience etc in collaboration with agencies like Unicef, Oxfam, Govt of India/UP, IDRC, DfID, CDKN, The Rockefeller Foundation, GIZ, The Asia Foundation etc. His specific interest areas are Participatory Planning, Vulnerability Analysis and Resilience Strategies, Policy influencing, Micro-planning, Training and Capacity Building, Action Research and Documentation

Dr Wajih has worked on governing board of various organizations like Oxfam India, IYF, Sahyog, Voluntary Health Association, Society for Promotion of wasteland Development, Institute of Social and Environment Transition (ISET), USA, Gorakhpur Environmental Action Group, Member-Wildlife Board, Govt of UP etc He received awards like Global 500 (UNEP), LightHouse (UNFCCC)

Ms. Dhriti Pathak is a Research Associate at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi. She has completed her Masters in Climate Change and Sustainability Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai and her Bachelors in Political Science from Delhi University. She is a multi-disciplinary researcher with expertise in the adaptation sector. She has worked on multiple projects related to the development of Integrated Catchment Management plans, vulnerability assessments, adaptation action and disaster risk reduction.

Dr. Kavya Michael is an Associate Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). She has PhD in Economics from the University of Hyderabad, India. For her postdoctoral work at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements she was leading the urban research component of the ASSAR project that examines how the effects of climate change are experienced by the most marginalised people in the city of Bengaluru and its peripheries. Recently her research examines the intersections of climate change and urban inequality within a climate justice framework. She is a recipient of the International Development Research Council (IDRC) Climate Leadership Fellowship and has also co-authored the Global Commission of Adaptation's Background Report on Cities.

Dr. Manish Anand (Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute - TERI) is a multidisciplinary professional with more than fifteen years of experience in policy research, advocacy and capacity building encompassing diverse areas of agriculture, food and land use, resource use and efficiency and emerging technologies. He is academically trained in science policy, innovation studies, developmental studies and agriculture.

Mr Saurabh Bhardwaj is a Fellow and Area Convener at the Center of Climate Modelling at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), and an associate faculty at TERI University, New Delhi with over 10 years of work experience in atmospheric sciences, meteorology, climate science and modelling, training and project management. He completed his M.Tech (Atmospheric Physics) and M.Sc. (Space Sciences) from Pune University prior to joining CDAC (Center for Development of Advance Computing), a government supercomputing R&D company as a Member Technical Staff and later worked as a Scientific Application Developer at CGGVeritas, a world leader in geophysical services. He possesses over nine years of experience in climate science and modeling, including over five years of hands-on experience in working with High Performance Computing architecture in combination with various climate and weather models. Climate extremes and climate change, weather and climate modelling, parallel processing and grid computing architecture are few of the things he has worked on during his professional career and which form a major part of his interest. His recent work in climate research includes generating extreme climate profile for India, improving model efficacy to minimize uncertainty in forecasting, high resolution climate knowledge generation, capacity building of researchers and policy makers, and multi sectoral climate analysis. His current and past collaborations include projects with international institutes like Bjerknes Centre (BCCR), University of Bergen and Oslo in Norway, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany, National Centre of Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in US, Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) in Thailand and national government institutes like National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), Noida; Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune etc. He is a life time member of Indian Meteorological society. His research has been published in Vision, American Geophysical Union, European Geosciences Union and Pollution Research. He has working experience in government, private and non-government, not-for-profit research sectors.

Ms Bhadwal leads research activities in the area of climate change, focusing mainly on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation assessments and works in close association with communities. She has been with TERI since October 2000 and has contributed to several projects. Some of the key projects she has worked on include a study on vulnerability to climate change in the Indian agricultural sector in the context of economic globalization, (supported by CIDA and the Government of Norway), contributions to India's first and second national communications submitted to the UNFCCC and World Bank supported study on vulnerability to climate variability and change through an assessment of issues and options for adaptation. Ms Bhadwal is also listed as a UNDP regional roster of expert on vulnerability and adaptation. Furthermore, she has been identified as a Member by the Planning Commission as part of a Working Group on Climate Change and Environment for the XIIth V Year Plan (2012-2017). She has also been closely associated with the International Human Dimensions Programme attending numerous open meetings and Institutes organised by them. At COP events she has been actively involved, as an observer, organizer and contributor. She has published several papers on related issues and has contributed as a Lead Author for the IPCC AR4 WGII Report. She is also a Review Editor for the IPCC AR5 WG II Report and the IPCC Special Report on Extreme Events. Ms Bhadwal has a Masters in Environmental Sciences from Hissar in Haryana.

Dr. A. Nambi Appadurai is Director (Climate Resilience Practice) at World Resources Institute (WRI - India). Nambi Appadurai is the Director of the Climate Resilience Practice at World Resources Institute, India where he oversees a portfolio of projects that help build climate resilience at different levels. He has been with WRI since 2014. His work focuses on climate proofing of development plans, creating access to climate finance and scaling up both investments and good practices in climate resilient initiatives at local, subnational and national levels. He has been actively engaged with select streams of work under Global Commission on Adaptation.

Dr. Chandni Singh is Senior Research Consultant – Practice at Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), Bengaluru. Chandni Singh has a PhD in International Development from the University of Reading, United Kingdom and works at the interface of climate change and development in the global South. At IIHS, she works on issues of climate change adaptation, differential vulnerability and wellbeing, disaster risk, and rural-urban migration. She is a Contributing Author of the IPCC’s Special Report on 1.5 degrees and a Lead Author of the IPCC’s Assessment Report 6. Chandni serves on the editorial boards of Regional Environmental Change and Progress in Development Studies. Her main domains of work fall under the scope of human dimensions of global environmental change and include climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, natural resource management, climate information services, livelihood transformations, and human migration with a thrust on using participatory methods.

Dr. Partha Jyoti Das is an environmental scientist with special interest in climate change and water issues. He works with communities, civil society as well as Government agencies with the aim of ensuring environmental and climate security for the threatened and marginalized communities and ecosystems through research and advocacy.

Dr. Sekhar Lukose Kuriakose is Member Secretary, Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (Ex-officio) & Head (Scientist), Kerala State Emergency Operations Centre, Department of Disaster Management, Govt. of Kerala.

Anu Jogesh is the Associate Director of Climate and Resilience Hub at Willis Towers Watson.

Mr. Sanjay Vashist is the director of Climate Action Network in South Asia (CANSA). Prior to it he worked with TERI as Climate Change expert. He also worked as International Coordinator for Climate Action Network International (CANI) in Bonn, Germany coordinating the activities of ENGOs network also acting as focal point for ENGOs constituency of observers under UNFCCC

Academically he is a ‘Forester’ with Graduation and Post Graduation in Forestry from India. He completed his Master in Agro Forestry from Gujarat Agriculture University and Graduation in Forestry from Konkan Krishi Vidhyapeeth, Maharashtra.

Shailly Kedia is the Associate Director of the Sustainable Development and Outreach Division at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi and will be leading efforts on TERI’s flagship Track II initiative, World Sustainable Development Summit. She has been with TERI since 2009 and a multidisciplinary professional who has more than 15 years of experience in policy research, advocacy and capacity building. She has led interdisciplinary initiatives on sustainable development and climate change supported by agencies such as the United Nations Environment Programme, United Nations Development Programme, Asian Development Bank, Global Green Growth Institute, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change, and Finance Commission among others. Her research interests include climate policy, energy, environment, sustainable development, green growth, non-traditional security, and international organization.
