Frydenlund has served in Chile, at the Norwegian Mission to the European Union in Brussels, at the Norwegian Mission to the United Nations in New York and has been Norwegian Representative to the Palestinian Authority. He has worked for thirteen years in different capacities with conflict resolution in Africa. He has been Press Spokesman for International Development in the Ministry. Frydenlund was born in 1959, is an economist by education, is married and has three grown-up children.

At CEA, Mr Ramanathan was responsible for planning and operation of transmission and distribution systems, establishment of load dispatch centers, techno-economic appraisal of power projects, etc. He has also served as member of a number of national level committees on power system planning and operation. At TERI, Mr Ramanathan is working in the area of regulatory studies and governance. His fields of interest are power sector reforms, promotion of renewable energy, energy efficiency, hydropower development, power system planning and operation, etc. He is also functioning as a part time faculty for M.B.A. and M.Tech courses organized by TERI University . At TERI, his profile includes managing the work on energy transitions in the Indian power sector to develop a roadmap for low-carbon pathways. This includes work on demand forecasting, studying economic feasibility of supply side options and technical challenges of grid integration of renewables. He also leads the work on power sector policy, reforms and regulations, demand side management action plans, smart grid, etc. Mr Saxena has rich regulatory experience in tariff determination for Inter State Generating stations (Conventional and Renewable) and Inter-State Transmission Systems (ISTS), Point-of-Connection charges, IEGC, Deviation Settlement Mechanism, Open Access, Connectivity, Ancillary Services, regulatory approval for solar parks, power market, etc. He also headed a task force to provide inputs to the draft regulations for transmission planning. He was Joint Secretary, Additional Secretary and Special Secretary in the Ministry of Power. ? He played a key role in the enactment of the Electricity Act, 2003. This was the major reform legislation for the Power Sector. ? He played a crucial role in the conceptualization and the launch of the national program for completing Rural Electrification which was launched in 2005. ? He was also instrumental in promoting private sector participation in the Power Sector including the Ultra Mega Power Projects of 4,000 megawatts each. ? Brij Mohan Sharma currently works at RECETOX, Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. He is an interdisciplinary researcher with solid skills and experience in environmental pollution, human biomonitoring, and health risk assessment. His major research interest is in investigating the fate and transport of environmental pollutants, their exposure to humans, and health implications. He has been part of several successful multilateral projects focusing on pollution caused by Persistent Organic Pollutants, Endocrine-disrupting chemicals, and heavy metals. To date, his research studies represent some of the few (and in some cases the only) existing accounts of these environmental problems in India. His Ph.D. and Postdoctoral research work is a milestone and a primary source of information to endorse the implementation of the Stockholm Convention and the Minamata Convention in India. He is a passionate exponent of sustainable development goals and environmental management reforms.

A serving Indian Forest Officer, Dr J V Sharma has nearly 34 years' experience of overall coordination and management of projects and activities in the forestry sector. Earlier he has also worked as DIG (Forest Policy and Forest International Cooperation) as link officer along with his main assignment as DIG-Research and training in the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change and dealt with various issues of research and training. He has also worked on various projects related to Economic Valuation of Forest Ecosystem, Change in Forest Governance, Carbon Financing and enhancing livelihoods of forest communities. Presently on deputation to TERI, he is involved in guiding the research and development work in the Forestry & Biodiversity Area, which consists of a multidisciplinary professional team of researchers. Also involved in monitoring research, consultancy and extension activities. Other responsibilities include strategic development, project formulation, raising project funding, project implementation and monitoring, institutional and capacity building, networking and negotiating with Government representatives and funding agencies. He is faculty also in the Natural resource Management department of TERI University and guiding 5 PhD students on Forest governance, Climate Change and Natural Resource Economics.
