India, EU agree to cooperate on cleaning up Ganga
India and the European Union have signed a memorandum of understanding for protecting the Ganga river and other Indian waterways. Uma Bharati, the Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, and Karmenu Vella, the EU Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, inked the document at the World Sustainable Development Summit on Friday.
