for Intergenerational Equity
Day: 09th February, 2024 | Friday
Time: 10:00 am to 11:00 am IST

Session Description

Recognizing the profound impact of decisions made today on the generations of tomorrow, the Youth Plenary aims to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders. It seeks to cultivate a sense of ownership and responsibility among the youth by integrating their fresh and uninhibited perspectives into the discourse on sustainability and nature-centric approaches. The session is designed to amplify the pivotal role of youth as the driving force behind innovative and transformative sustainable development and climate solutions.

By providing a platform that showcases their initiatives, the session aims to ignite a passion for leadership in sustainable development. The plenary will serve as a melting pot of ideas, experiences, and innovative approaches, fostering an environment where the youth can actively contribute to shaping the global sustainability agenda. By acknowledging their efforts, the Youth Plenary will reinforce the notion that youngsters are active agents of change and architects of the future.

In alignment with the Summit’s overarching theme of ‘Leadership for Sustainable Development and Climate Justice,’ the Youth Plenary aims to propel the youth to the forefront of global decision-making and policy discourse. By making their voices heard and acknowledging their agency, we can pave the way for a future where the North Star of climate justice will guide intergenerational equity, thereby ensuring a sustainable and harmonious world for generations to come.

The umbrella question for this session is: How can youth propel actions and discourses which consider climate justice as the North Star?
